Literacy Through Photography: Published

This past year I joined Kristin Sutton and her fourth and fifth grade class from Irving Elementary on an journey of self exploration through poetry and photography.  For a semester, Kristin taught different writing techniques while I came into the classroom and instructed the young students in photography.  Upon completion we held a show at a local coffee shop in Bozeman and were published in this national magazine.  It was really neat to see how this project evolved.  We plan to continue the LTP program.

The program is currently run off of donation and money we raise by selling the photographs at the  show.  If you wish to learn more or to donate to our program please contact me at rrcudmore@gmail.com.

Senior Portraits

So recently I have had the privilege to take senior portraits for a family in Idaho Falls.  Not too familiar with the town, I find myself wandering down alleys and through parks trying to find good locations.  We took a wrong turn down this side alley and stumble across some graffiti.  I became obsessed with the wall and spent quite a bit of time here.  Here is one shot that I really liked.

Valerie and Dugan Wedding

Here is an image from my most recent event in the Flathead Valley.  It was such a joy to photograph.  It was a beautiful day- and Val and Dugan were such a great couple to work with.  The day was a success and a fabulous get-away car was the icing on the cake.

Mr. President

I took this when Obama came to MSU in the spring of 08.  I got to shake his hand after his speech.  Its a shot with my little digi, but not bad i'd say.

LTP Show

Here are a few shots of the Literacy Through Photography show we had up at International Coffee Traders.  I will be teaching it again with Kristin Sutton again at Irving Elementary this spring.  This time with Third Graders...

utha stuff

Over the pst year, some friends have asked me to design logos, cd cover etc.  Here are a couple examples.

St. Anthony Hasselblad

Here are a few shots I came across while trying to dissect my external hard drive files.  I went to see the sand dunes that i drive by every time I see my Parents in Idaho.  Plus it gave me a chance to play with a hasselblad for the first time... i think i took these about 2-3 years ago.

Madeline

Here are some pictures of my niece when I was back in Idaho this Fall.  We were playing in the back yard and I happened to have my camera.  I took so many though, I thought she was ready to break my camera...

Literacy through photograhy

I have been involved with a literacy through photography program in the past year.  My co-educator and I were fortunate to have our story published in a national magazine this past fall.  Here are a couple shot that I had from a recent teaching afternoon with my pastor's son.  We spent a sunday afternoon together talking "shop".  At the end of the day, I asked him if he had fun.  He replied " yeah, but it was a little bit weird."  I questioned him on that statement and he said "i don't understand the whole 'film' thing you were talking about..."

I think i have some work to do.

If you are interested in learning more about the LTP program.  Please email me at rrcudmore@gmail.com

Thanks

Fireman Awareness :)..

I joined my mom with her preschoolers on a field trip to the fire department in Idaho Falls.  I never really thought that kids would be scared of firemen when they are all geared up.  If you get a chance, let your children see what firemen look like in real life in a positive situation so that if there is ever a fire in your house, your kids wont try to run or hide from these heros that are essentially trying to save their lives.  I never really thought it was that big of a deal... but you never know...

Spelling

By the way I am horrible at spelling... keep that in mind when reading my posts.  Thanks.

Brekke/ Peuse Wedding

So here is an image from a wedding that I am currently editing.  I'm finding the images to be more and more beautiful as I work on them.  They will be posted on digiproofs as soon as i finish.  I try to let some time pass before editing a wedding.  I gives me time to let go of the actual moment and focus on the imagery.  Although I can never really let go of the moment, I can try to separate myself with it long enough to look at the images from an outsides POV.  I swear, for hose who know me, this is not a justification....

Young/Summerer Wedding

After being roommates with the middle Summerer sister for nearly four years now, I have been blessed to see the little sister, Amy, meet and fall in love with Andrew... one of the coveted Young boys.  After shooting a retirement party and a funeral for the Summerers, both celebrating the finale of two great things.  Now it was my honor to shoot the beginning of something.  Something so beautiful and so blessed.  May the Lord honor Andrew and Amy as they begin the rest of their lives together.

Here are the contact sheets for Andrew and Amy's wedding in Bozeman.  If you are interested in ordering any prints please contact me at rrcudmore@gmail.com and I will send a price sheet and order form.  It was such a blessing to be a part of the joining of these two hearts..
